How long is an EPC valid for?
An Energy Performance Certificate is valid for 10 years, for both commercial and residential properties.
Do I legally need a Commercial EPC?
Yes, you need an EPC when marketing a property for sale or letting and also for a newly built property (when BRUKL reporting may also be required under the Building Regulations). For property that is let, a valid EPC is also required to be lodged on the Government database to show compliance with the Minimum Energy Efficiency Regulations.
What is the difference between an EPC and a DEC?
An EPC rates a building’s potential energy efficiency, while a Display Energy Certificate (DEC) reflects a building’s actual energy consumption and is required annually for many commercial and public premises.
Do you carry out air conditioning inspections?
Yes — we provide the statutory air conditioning reports required on many installations, including complex buildings.
